Sunday 18th May 2025

The decision to hold this event was made after discussions with the Saline County Health Department and Marshall School District administration.  Student attendance at prom and graduation are not required.
With COVID-19 running rapid through the state and Saline county over the last couple of months, it was questionable whether many area schools would be holding a prom or graduation. Now that restrictions have been lifted in the state and it seems like Saline County continues to recover from the virus, the Marshall School District has made the decision to hold their Junior – Senior Prom this week.
Marshall High School Principal Ian Verts talks about the details.

Students with prom tickets may enter the building at 8 pm.
Verts explains.

MHS Prom Information:

  • Walk-in is still closed to the public but will be live-streamed for them to watch online.  It will be available through the KMMO Facebook page.  “Public” includes your families; please plan to take pictures with your family prior to arrival.
  • Junior dads are available to park cars, but if you do not feel comfortable letting someone in your car, you can park it yourself.  Only cars, trucks, and SUVs are allowed at prom; no tractors or horse-carriages, etc.
  • There will be limited snacks and refreshments at prom; we will have gloved volunteers to pass them out to avoid as much cross-contamination as possible.  NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK WILL BE ALLOWED IN.
  • Tickets were mailed home; if you have not ordered your ticket you have two more chances.

o   I will be at the high school Friday, the 19th from 10 A.M. until noon.  You can come get a ticket then. I will be set up outside, under the awning in circle drive.
o   You can get one from an administrative assistant at the high school, prior to next Thursday.  They are there from 8-3 M-F.  I would advise calling ahead.

  • If you have an out of district guest, the form has closed.  You will need to contact Mrs. Niemeyer directly.  If you have not previously cleared your out of district guest, it MUST be done before you are allowed into prom.   If your guest was approved, you have been contacted by Mrs. Niemeyer or Mrs. Thomas.  If you did not get a confirmation, please email Mrs. Niemeyer as soon as possible. Do NOT wait until you arrive at prom!
  • Prom is still semi-formal; NO jeans allowed. NO large bags/ backpacks will be allowed in.
  • Lee’s Studio will be there to take pictures; the packet has been previously emailed to you with prices so you can plan accordingly.
  • We will have masks available.  We will also provide hand sanitizer at various places and have the bathrooms cleaned after every use.
