The Lafayette County Health reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, June 29.
These new cases raised the number of confirmed cases to 90. The number of persons that have been released from observation remains at 77.  There are now ten active cases of the virus in Lafayette County and there have been a total of three deaths related to the virus.
All individuals are encouraged to continue following social distancing recommendations, taking extra precautions to protect themselves and others when social distancing is not possible.
Businesses, agencies and institutions, particularly those with high-risk and special populations may implement additional safety measures. This can help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 to protect employees, patrons and those entering the establishment.
Daily total cases in Missouri have come close to doubling in the last week compared to previous weeks.  Many Lafayette County Businesses and citizens are still voluntarily following social distancing and mask use recommendations. Some businesses and a lot of people are not however.
The Lafayette County Health Department would like to remind everyone that it is important to remember that the virus is still prevalent. It is up to us all to take personal responsibility and protect each other.  The department recommends that you use your masks in public in situations where social distancing is not possible.
