An inmate at an area jail has been charged with a drug-related felony for an incident on June 1.
According to a probable-cause statement, there were two envelopes that came through the mail room at the Boonville Correctional Center that were intercepted from intelligence that was received through the offender phone system. On the conversations that were listened to, offender Alexander Garmon was working with a parolee to introduce an unknown substance that would be sprayed on the envelope and paper. When the investigator tested the envelope, he did not have any positive results; but when he tested the paper that was inside the envelope, there was a presumptive positive result for ketamine.
Garmon has been charged with a Class C Felony for Conspiracy to Deliver or Possess a Controlled Substance at a jail facility.
Garmon’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
