Due to COVID-19 restrictions, most large gatherings, including annual festivals have been cancelled this year but many communities have opted to still hold a fireworks display where people can watch from their vehicles or where social distancing can still be achieved.
While some Fourth of July celebrations may have been canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show goes on for others.
Here is for some of the Independence Day celebrations currently scheduled around the KMMO listening area.

MARSHALL-
Marshall Fireworks will begin at dusk on Saturday, July 4, at Indian Foothills Park in Marshall.
CARROLLTON-
The Town of Carrollton has cancelled their annual CarrollTON of Fun Day that usually takes place on July 4, but they will still be having the Fourth of July fireworks display around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Look to the water tower for by the fire department for the display.
CONCORDIA-
The City of Concordia will be having a fireworks display at Edwin Pape Lake on the evening of Sunday, July 5 beginning at dusk.
ELDON-
The City of Eldon will hold a Fourth of July Firecracker 5K Run / Walk on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 7:30am!!
At 4 p.m. enjoy the taste of all the food vendors while checking out the craft vendors, and bounce houses for the kids. Live band and more!!Also take advantage the 1/2 price swim at the Eldon Aquatic Center from 12 to 4pm.
Fireworks display at dark!!
GLASGOW-
The City of Glasgow will be sponsoring a fireworks display on Saturday, July 4 by the high school track. The display will begin at dusk.
HOLDEN-
The City of Holden and Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring Spark at the Park on Saturday, July 4. Beginning at 7 p.m. come enjoy snow cones, popcorn, and water located at the park’s pavilion and entertainment provided by DJ Kaden. The fireworks display will begin at dusk and everyone is welcome to watch the display at the park or from their vehicles.
LEXINGTON-
The City of Lexington and Lexington Parks and Recreation Annual Fourth of July fireworks display will be held on Friday, July 3 at the Lions Club Lake. Fireworks start at dusk.
SEDALIA-
The Sedalia Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a fireworks show at the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 4. Gates will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show is expected to start at approximately 9:30 p.m. Grandstand seating will not be available however; there is plenty of parking available so people may watch from their vehicle or bring blanket if they choose to watch from the grassy area.
SLATER-
The City of Slater July Fourth fireworks display will begin after dusk at the Slater Airport on Saturday, July 4.
WARRENSBURG-
There will be events and a public display at Grover Park Baptist Church on Saturday, July 4.
