Many concerns were raised by Marshall residents and councilmen about a possible fence ordinance during a public hearing at the city council meeting on Monday, July 6.
Susan Heying, who lives at 523 East Slater Street, was the first resident to express concerns about such an ordinance.

Marshall resident and contractor J.L. Waters pointed out several parts of the ordinance which could be reworked, and he offered to help.

After considering all of the input, Ward 1 Councilman Dewey Hendrix’s motion to table the first reading of the proposed eight-page ordinance to a future meeting to give council members and city officials to review it and make some changes was approved.
