Lafayette County Health Department reported on Thursday, there have been four more people released from observation and only one new case of COVID-19 has been confirmed since Wednesday.
There are now a total of 105 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Lafayette County to date. The number of persons released from observation or “recovered” is now up to 84. There are 18 active cases and there have been a total of three deaths, previously reported.
According to Lafayette County Health Department Director, Tom Emerson, daily total cases in Missouri have already been increasing and now in Lafayette County have increased this week. Lafayette County is seeing a community spread from work situations and social gatherings.
It’s important to remember that the virus is still prevalent. It is up to all of us to take personal responsibility and protect each other. Please use your masks in public in situations where you cannot maintain a 6 foot distance from other people.
If you are contacted by the health department, please cooperate with quarantine instructions and close contact identification. It’s the law.
