The Lafayette County Health Department was notified of public exposures to COVID-19 at a couple of different locations.
The health department says the exposures were at Las Carretas Restaurant in Lexington during lunchtime on Wednesday, July 8; and at Dave’s Country Mart in Lexington between 7 and 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 11.
Health officials say anyone who visited either of these locations at these times should monitor their health and watch for symptoms.
According to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus and include:
• Fever or chills;
• Cough;
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
• Fatigue;
• Muscle or body aches;
• Headache;
• New loss of taste or smell;
• Sore throat;
• Congestion or runny nose;
• Nausea or vomiting; and/or
• Diarrhea.
Health officials say if you develop any of these symptoms, you should contact your healthcare provider. Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. People who visited the business but do not have symptoms do not need to self-quarantine, unless they develop COVID-19 symptoms.
The establishments have been notified and will be closing for a deep cleaning. As a reminder, this release is to notify individuals who may be at risk due to an exposure and should not be taken as an indication of fault on the part of any parties. The health department will not be releasing any additional information.
