Two Boonville residents have been charged with a drug-related felony after the execution of a narcotics search warrant by authorities on July 9.
According to a probable-cause statement, upon arrival, entry was made in the residence and authorities contacted Stephen Von Womack and Valerie Barber. During the search of his person, it was found that Womack had a plastic container containing a white crystal/liquid substance. Womack told deputies it was methamphetamine.
Authorities asked Barber and Womack if there were any other illegal narcotics inside the residence. Womack explained there were needles and glass smoking pipes in the bedroom under the bed. Items seized included two glass smoking pipes with white crystal residue; three plastic containers and plastic baggies with white crystal residue; two used needles; and a wood box containing approximately 50 needles.
Barber and Womack each has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Class E Felony for Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance. Bond for each subject has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Each defendant was scheduled to appear for a hearing at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at Cooper County Circuit Court. No other information is available at this time.
