A 43-year-old Marshall man has been charged with a felony after being stopped by authorities in Pettis County on Sunday, July 12.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities attempted to initiate a traffic stop in Sedalia, but the driver sped away. The driver then suddenly stopped the vehicle after a short pursuit, and the officers conducted a high-risk stop, holding the suspect at gunpoint.
Michael Dewayne Dickerson was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Saline County. Dickerson also had a warrant for his arrest out of Saline County.
Dickerson was arrested and has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree in Pettis County. Bond has been fixed at $7,500 cash or surety.
Dickerson was arraigned on Tuesday, July 14. His next hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
