An annual event in Marshall that was scheduled for early next month has been canceled.
According to Marshall Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mary Ann Piper, the Sips N’ Grins Wine Walk that was set for Saturday, August 1, has been called off. She said the chamber thinks that with COVID-19 cases still increasing in Saline County, it will be in the best interest to keep citizens safe and not contribute to the rising total of positive cases.
The Marshall Cultural Council is still considering the possibility of holding “Shopping Under the Sun” on August 1, according to President Ashley Boock.
Boock says the Marshall Cultural Council Committee is keeping in contact with the Saline County Health Department.
Boock said the committee is scheduled to meet on Monday, July 20, and discuss ideas how to keep residents maintaining social distancing during the event, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Marshall Square.
Also on the schedule at this time is a new event- “Chalk Walk” on the Square from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
