The number of positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Carroll County.
On Saturday, the Carroll County Health Department reported the number of positive cases of the virus in the county is up to 62 with 38 still active. There are now 24 persons who have been released from observation, there have been no deaths reported and there is currently no one hospitalized due to the virus.
According to the Carroll County Health Department Director, Roberta Hartwig, all persons identified by the case subject as a close contact, which is defined as closer than six-feet for a prolonged time of more than 15 minutes, are notified. Therefore, just being in the same public place does not necessarily make someone a close contact. Social distancing should be observed while in public places for this reason.
