The Carroll County Health Department is announcing there have been three new cases of COVID-19 confirmed since Saturday.
The number of positive cases of the virus in Carroll County is now up to 65. With 33 persons being released from observation, there are 32 active cases and one person remains hospitalized.
According to the Carroll County Health Department Director Roberta Hartwig, all persons identified by the case subject as a close contact- which is defined as closer than six-feet for a prolonged time of more than 15 minutes- are notified. Therefore, just being in the same public place does not necessarily make someone a close contact. Hartwig says for this reason, social distancing should be observed while in public places.
