No bond has been set in a case involving a 33-year-old Pleasant Hill man who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager in Odessa.
According to a probable-cause statement, on June 28, the mother of a 13-year-old girl alleged to authorities that Kyle Lee Halford sexually assaulted her daughter when Halford lived at the house of the mother. Authorities have been told the sexual assaults had been going on for “two years.” The mother confronted Halford with the accusations, and Halford denied them and then left the apartment.
Halford has been charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of a Class B Felony for Child Molestation in the Second Degree with a Child Less Than 12 Years Old; three counts of a Class C Felony for Child Molestation in the Third Degree with a Child Less Than 14 Years Old; two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Rape or Attempted Statutory Rape in the First Degree of a Person Less Than 14 Years Old; and four counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse- with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old.
Four judges recused themselves from the case, so the case has been assigned to the Honorable Daren Adkins by the Supreme Court of Missouri.
Halford pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on July 22. His next hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
