The Lafayette County Health Department confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
According to Lafayette County Health Department Administrator, Tom Emmerson, there are 19 active cases of COVID-19 in the county. The total year to date of all cases is 141 with 119 recovered. There has been a total of three deaths related to the virus in Lafayette County since the start of the pandemic.
Emmerson says it is important to remember that the virus is still prevalent. Lafayette County is continuing to see exposures in public places and at group meetings. He says it is up to all residents to take personal responsibility and protect each other and he urges everyone to use their masks in public places. He also recommends that you do not invite gatherings of other people into your home.
