The total number of positive cases of COVID-19 is approaching 49,000 in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the total number increased by 2,084 from 46,750 on Wednesday, July 29, to 48,834 on Thursday, July 30.
The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by 13 from 1,220 on Wednesday to 1,233 on Thursday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.
DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 31.
