The city of Marshall has been working on different renovation projects at the Marshall Memorial Municipal Airport for sometime now.

During the meeting of the city council on Monday, August 4, the council took in a presentation from Jerry Searle, a representative of HDR, an engineering firm out of Des Moines, regarding updating the airport’s Master Plan.

Searle gave an overview of the project, with details about hangars, runways and other projects.

Searle said HDR needs the blessing of the council in order to move on to the next steps of the project, including submitting the plans to the Missouri Department of Transportation. The council did so.

Later in the meeting, the council considered approval of an option for land owned by Raymond and Erica Coleman relating to the Master Plan. City Administrator David Haugland explained.

The council approved the resolution for the option that will cost $20,000 and will expire on April 30, 2021.
