Increasing by just over 1,000 positive cases by 2 p.m. on Monday, August 3, from Sunday, August 2, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now more than 52,800 in the state.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the total number of positive cases is now 52,887- up from 51,840.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths inched up from 1,253 on Sunday to 1,255 on Monday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4.
