In the KMMO listening area, the number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to climb.

According to information from health officials on Thursday, August 6, in Saline County, the total has increased by five from the day before to 424. Officials say 371 patients have recovered and seven persons have died, leaving 46 active cases, including two hospitalized.

Six more positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Lafayette County on Thursday. That makes 168 positive cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. With 134 persons released from observation and three deaths, there are 31 active cases.

Cooper County’s total increased by four positive cases on Thursday to 124 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 93 positive patients listed as recovered, there are 31 active cases in the county, including one hospitalized.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by 21 on Thursday to 461 in Pettis County. With 343 recoveries and four deaths, there are 114 active cases, including eight persons hospitalized.

One additional positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Chariton County on Thursday, bringing the total to 19. With 13 persons listed as recovered, there are six active cases in the county.

No new positive cases were reported in Howard County on Thursday. The total of positive cases is 46 since the beginning of the pandemic. There were four more patients listed as recovered, making that total 38, leaving eight active cases in the county.

In Carroll County, the total positive number of cases remain at 86, just like earlier this week. Eighty-five patients have recovered, leaving one active case.
