A 52-year-old Marshall woman died in a motorcycle crash in Saline County on Sunday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound Harley Davidson, driven by 60-year-old Calvin Lowe, of Belmond, Iowa, failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The bike then crossed 245th Road, struck the ground and came to rest off the roadway.

A passenger on the bike, Melissa Howseer was pronounced deceased at 7:54 p.m. by Saline County Coroner Willie Harlow. Lowe was transported by Saline County E.M.S. to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash happened at 7:20 p.m. on Route O, north of 245th Road.
