In the last six days, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by nearly 4,500 in the state of Missouri.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, as of 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, the total number of positive cases was 57,379- up from 52,887 on August 3.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths jumped from 1,255 on August 3 to 1,301 on Sunday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 10.
