Several appointments to boards were considered during the meeting of the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen on Monday, August 10.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the reappointments of Lauren Fuehring and Dave Gieselman and new appointments of Rodney Heaper and Joe Campbell were approved to the park board.

Approved to the library board were reappointments of Alisa Goode and Phyllis Stuerke.

Aldermen also gave the green light to reappointments of Marilyn Bock and Rhonda Nienhueser to the cemetery board and Tina Bright to the pool board.

In addition, aldermen approved the library board’s recommendation to hire Leigh Hartley as a custodian.

In other news, aldermen approved the setting of the city’s tax levy at $1.7860 per $100 assessment of real and personal property.

Aldermen also OK’d paying $1,983.88 to Tony’s Auto Repair to fix the sewer machine that had been damaged while on a call.

City Clerk Michelle Fuehring also reported the city received a good audit report. She said the only finding was delegation of duties that has plagued the city for years because of limited funds to hire additional staff to prepare reports.
