Up by more than 1,500 on Wednesday, August 12, the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state of Missouri is now more than 62,500 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services says the total number of positive cases was 62,530 as of 2 p.m. Wednesday- up from 60,935 on Tuesday.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by 11 from 1,312 on Tuesday to 1,323 on Wednesday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 13.
