
A new judge has been assigned and arraignment has been scheduled for a Marshall man facing felony charges after an alleged assault to a farm hand back in February.
During the morning hours of February 28, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in regards to an assault that had taken place on a farm facility just south of Marshall Junction where the victim reportedly suffered fractures and facial trauma as a result of the assault at the hands of 42-year-old Aaron Smith.
Smith has been charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree.
The court granted a request by the Saline County Prosecutor, Tim Thompson on July 27 for a Change of Judge in this case. Smith’s cause has been assigned to the Honorable Judge Hugh Harvey.
Smith is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 21 in Saline County Circuit Court.
