The number of COVID-19 cases continue to slowly rise in one area county.

The Lafayette County Health Department reported two new cases of the virus on Monday, August 17, making the total number of positive cases confirmed in the county 194. There are currently 49 active cases in the county and there have been a total of three deaths related to the virus in Lafayette County.

According to Health Department Director, Tom Emerson, to date, approximately 15% of the county population has been tested.
