New updates were given from two area counties over the weekend regarding COVID-19 cases.

According to health department officials, in Lafayette County, with three positive cases added on Saturday and one on Sunday, the overall total has reached 193 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

On Saturday, August 15, Chariton County officials confirmed two more recoveries. That leaves two of the 22 total cases remain active in the county.

Updates were not made available from Saline, Carroll, Cooper, Howard and Pettis Counties over the weekend.
