UPDATED AT 8 A.M. WITH COMMENTS FROM SUPERINTENDENT DR. CAROL MAHER
Originally scheduled to start classes on Monday, August 24, the Marshall Public School District announced earlier this month, the start would be pushed back a couple of days to Wednesday, August 26.
During a special meeting of the school board on Tuesday, August 18, the board voted to delay the beginning of the 2020-21 school year by another week.
The board voted to approve the new start date as Wednesday, September 2.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says delaying the start of school is the correct thing to do.
Dr. Maher adds that the administration and staff members miss the students.
