
During its meeting this week, the Concordia Board of Aldermen approved the annual tax-levy rate.
According to a city spokesperson, the rate approved was $0.5397 per $100 of assessed valuation of real and personal property. It is the same rate as it was last year.
In other news, according to unofficial minutes from the meeting, three bids were received for a 2009 Chevrolet Impala police vehicle, and aldermen approved a bid of $1,147 from Drake Wulser. If the bid falls through, the board will accept a bid of $502.02 from Marshall Looney; then a bid from Knockout Towing for $300.
The board also approved an ordinance accepting a grant of easement to the city for a general utility easement between Southwest 7th Terrace and Southwest 8th Street; and approved a proposal to replace a pump that went down at the water plant. The proposal was from Douglas Pump for $6,305 for a new pump.
