A new court proceeding has been scheduled for a Marshall man facing felony charges after an alleged assault to a farm hand back in February.

During the morning hours of February 28, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in regards to an assault that had taken place on a farm facility just south of Marshall Junction where the victim reportedly suffered fractures and facial trauma as a result of the assault at the hands of 42-year-old Aaron Smith.

Smith has been charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree.

Smith was arraigned on Friday, August 21 and entered a plea of not guilty. A Plea/Trial Setting has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, September 25 at Saline County Circuit Court.
