Two inmates at an area jail have been charged with felonies for being involved in incidents while other inmates were rioting on July 2.
According to a probable-cause statement, William Myers was in the day room with a correction officer at the Boonville Correctional Center, and Myers grabbed the officer by the shirt and started to push and pull him out of the day room into the foyer.
Another statement says Felix Jones was trying to come out of his bay when he was given directives to stay in his bay by a correction officer. Jones refused to stay in his bay, and then hit the officer in the facial area twice with a closed fist. A pepper spray use the force was done to Jones.
Each subject has been charged with a Class B Felony for Violence to an Employee of the Department of Corrections.
An initial hearing for each subject is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
