An area school district is not going to start classes on the date that was previously planned.
A news release from Slater Superintendent Debbie Gonzalez says the Slater School Board decided to delay the start of school to Tuesday, September 1.
Gonzales says: “Due to the increased rise of COVID(-19) cases in our area, it is in the best interest for our Wildcat Family to do so at this time.”
All face-to-face activities and practices are suspended until Tuesday, September 1, although virtual practices may still take place.
Gonzalez says: “We will continue to evaluate the situation to keep our community informed. As of now, classes will begin September 1- whether that be online or face-to-face- with decisions to be released on Friday, August 28.”
