Increasing by more than 2,000 over the weekend, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state is now more than 75,000.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the total number of positive cases was 75,075- up from 72,964 on Friday, August 21.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by seven from 1,419 on Friday to 1,426 on Sunday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 24.
