The court has ordered no bond for a Marshall man who has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a woman on August 22.

According to a Marshall Police report, the woman alleges Adam Scott Emde placed both of his hands around her throat and began choking her while she was holding her 2-year-old son. She says Emde had his hands around her throat for 15 to 20 seconds, causing her to lose the ability to breathe or speak and feel light headed. She also said Emde slammed her and the child onto the bed while still holding her by the throat; then threw her onto the floor and struck her on her left arm with his open right hand. After she stood up, the woman said Emde placed her in a headlock and threw her out of the bedroom into the bathroom door, causing her to hurt her back. She also said Emde smashed her head into the kitchen door. The child also suffered an injury, as his head hit the door, as well.

Emde has been charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree.

Emde was arraigned on Monday, August 24, and a confined-docket hearing in the case is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, at Saline County Circuit Court.
