
Positive COVID-19 cases continued to increase in several Counties in the KMMO listening area on Friday, August 28.
According to health-department officials, 16 new cases were added in Pettis County, bringing its overall total to 749 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 616 positive patients recovered and eight deaths, there are 125 active cases, including three persons hospitalized.
Six new positive cases were added in Howard County, bringing its overall total to 130. Since 77 positive patients have been released from observation as recovered- including three on Friday- there are 53 active cases, including three persons hospitalized.
In Saline County, five new cases were added, raising its overall total to 538. With 457 positive patients recovered- including three on Friday- and nine deaths, there are 72 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
Five new positive cases were confirmed in Lafayette County, upping its overall total to 229. With three deaths and 183 positive patients recovered, there are 43 active cases.
Three new positive cases were added in Cooper County, bringing its overall total to 223. With 182 positive patients recovered and three deaths, there are 38 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
Chariton County reported two new positive cases, increasing its overall total to 32. With 22 of positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 10 active cases.
An update was not available from Carroll County. According to its last update on Tuesday, August 25, 91 of the 93 total positive cases had recovered.
