Fifth-year superintendent Derek Lark says things are going well in the Santa Fe R-X School District so far.

The district began its year on August 24 with face-to-face classes. Lark said having the students back has been absolutely great.

Lark said he sent out updates periodically to parents, guardians and students to keep them abreast of all of the changes taking place.

Lark says the district is not mandating but recommending the wearing of face coverings.

Lark says he hopes everything works out well, and kids can stay in school for the duration this year.

Students were given the choice of in-person or distance learning. Lark said of the 315 kids in the district- K through 12- one student is virtual learning and all of the others are in attendance for face-to-face classes.
