
One county in the KMMO listening area saw an increase of double digits of positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, September 2.
According to health-department officials, in Pettis County, the positive case count grew by 16 from 770 on Tuesday, September 1, to 786 on Wednesday. With 660 positive patients recovered and nine deaths, there are 117 active cases, including two persons hospitalized.
Six new positive cases were confirmed in Lafayette County, increasing its overall total to 251. With three deaths and 203 recovered, there are 45 active cases.
Saline County reported four new positive cases and 12 recoveries on Wednesday. In all, there have been 557 total positive cases. With 480 recoveries and nine deaths, the active case count is now 68.
Four new positive cases were confirmed in Cooper County, raising its overall total to 246. With 206 positive patients recovered and three deaths, there are 37 active cases. Eleven of the positive cases are travel related and 235 are through community transmission. Congregate-living cases total 112- including 78 inmates and 34 employees. Thirteen positive cases are from nursing homes and assisted-living centers.
In Chariton County, two new positive cases were confirmed, increasing its overall total to 49. With 26 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 23 active cases.
Updates were not available from Carroll and Howard Counties.
