August 10, 2021 will mark the 200th anniversary of Missouri’s entry as the 24th state to enter the United States. Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft was in Marshall Thursday afternoon to present Saline County with a banner commemorating the states 200th anniversary along with a flag recognizing Saline County and its inception into the state of Missouri in 1820.
Missouri is home to a number of regional cultures, geographies and industries and each community has their own story to tell. By celebrating the accomplishments and diversity of these areas we help create a better understanding of our state and the links that unite us.
Secretary Ashcroft plans to visit all Missouri counties to share in the upcoming anniversary celebration.
