Although the largest increase of positive cases- nine- in any county in the KMMO listening area was reported in Saline County, it also recorded 20 recoveries on Thursday, September 3.

According to health-department officials, the total positive case count in Saline County is 566 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 500 positive patients recovered and nine deaths, the active case count has dropped to 57.

Five new positive cases were reported in Pettis County, increasing its total to 791. With 670 positive patients recovered and nine deaths, there are 112 active cases, including two persons hospitalized.

In Cooper County, officials confirmed three more positive cases, increasing the overall total to 249. Since 206 positive patients have recovered and there have been three deaths, there are 40 active cases. Eleven positive cases are travel related and 238 are through community transmission. Seventy-eight cases are inmates and 34 employees in congregate-living facilities. Thirteen positive cases are from nursing and/or assisted-living homes.

Two more positive cases were confirmed in Carroll County, raising its overall total to 99. With 93 positive patients recovered, there are six active cases.

In Chariton County, the number of positive cases grew by two, bringing its total to 51. With 26 positive patients being released from public health isolation, there are 25 active cases.

Two more positive cases were reported in Lafayette County, increasing its total to 253. With three deaths and 203 recoveries, there are 47 active cases.

An update was not available from Howard County on Thursday. According to its last update at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 161 total positive cases had been confirmed. With 96 positive patients recovered, there were 65 active cases at that time.
