All meals served by the Sweet Springs R-7 School District will be free for all students Pre-K through 12th-graders through the end of December 2020 or until federal grant money is exhausted.

A release from Superintendent Lori Price says in a recent release from the USDA, summer meal waivers for school districts have been extended through December 31 or until the funding runs out. This means that the district can continue the Summer Food Service Program that was offered during the spring COVID-19 closure.

If this funding becomes unavailable prior to the anticipated deadline, the district will communicate the change with families.

Price says if your child has a balance in their account, it will remain in their account for them to use after the federal grant money ends.
