During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, September 8, Clerk Debbie Russell gave an update on some information involving the General Election on Tuesday, November 3.

Russell said absentee voting will begin later this month.

Russell also said the last day to register to vote and be eligible to cast a ballot in November is early next month.

In other news from the meeting, the commission held its annual tax-rate hearing and approved the 2020 rates as: $0.1553 for general revenue; $0.2402 for Common Road District; $0.3586 Special Road and Bridge; and $0.3513 for Common Road District Temp. The commissioners also approved the SB 40 Tax at $0.0564; and the M&M Surtax at $0.4000.
