A 41-year-old Marshall man has been charged with felonies after a reported high-speed pursuit and subsequent location of drug-related items in the vehicle on September 2.

According to a Saline County deputy’s report, the suspect vehicle ran stop signs and traveled at a high rate of speed on multiple streets inside the city limits. The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Benton and Vest, and the suspect exited the vehicle and ran. The suspect initially refused to comply with authorities’ requests, but eventually was taken into custody after resisting arrest.

Authorities say they found $348.01 located in the suspect’s pants pocket. In the vehicle, they say they located 13 grams of methamphetamine; two sets of digital scales; two unused syringes; a Ziploc-style baggie containing a white crystallized residue; and other drug-related items.

Aundra Lamont Butner has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing; and three misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only

Butner is scheduled to be arraigned at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at Saline County Circuit Court.
