A couple of scrub-seal projects and two road closures are scheduled to take place in Chariton County this week.

According to a news release, scrub-seal projects are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 8. The projects, which are scheduled to continue through the rest of the week, are on Highway 11- from U.S. Highway 25 and U.S. Highway 36 (the Linn County line); and on Highway 5- from U.S. Highway 24 to the Howard County line. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers and a pilot car will guide motorists around the work zone during each project

Route FF- from Snapp Road to Allen Road- is scheduled to be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9; and Highway 129- from Route NN to Salt Lick Avenue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, for culvert replacement.

All work is weather permitting.
