Updates from five counties in the KMMO listening area regarding COVID-19 cases were given on Monday, September 7.

According to health-department officials, 10 new positive cases were confirmed, raising the overall total to 270 in Lafayette County. With three deaths and 209 recoveries, there are 58 active cases.

Two newly-diagnosed positive cases were reported in Cooper County, increasing its overall total to 259. With 209 positive patients recovered and three deaths, there are 47 active cases. Eleven positive cases are travel related and 248 through community transmission. Congregate-living cases break down as 79 inmates and 38 employees. Thirteen positive cases are in nursing and/or assisted-living homes.

Carroll County’s total positive case count remained at 101. With 95 positive patients recovered, six cases remain active.

The Chariton County Health Center reported four of the active cases were released from public health isolation. With 33 recoveries, 20 of the 53 total positive cases remain active.

An update from Saline County says eight new positive cases were confirmed over the weekend, raising its total to 594. With five more recoveries- upping that total to 508- and nine deaths, there are 77 active cases, including four persons hospitalized.

Updates were not available from Howard and Pettis Counties.

As of Friday, three more positive cases were confirmed, however four were removed from the active-case list in Howard County on Friday. In all, there have been 195 positive cases. With one death and 123 recoveries, there were 71 active cases, including one person hospitalized, at last report.

Pettis County’s numbers included 799 total positive cases as of Friday. With 680 positive patients recovered and nine deaths, there were 110 active cases, including two persons hospitalized, at that time.
