During the three weeks between the council meetings, the Marshall City Council chambers received what could be considered a complete makeover.

Although the update and reconfiguration eliminated some of the seats available for the public, it was shiny new when the council met on Tuesday, September 8.

Mayor Julie Schwetz thanked the construction workers.

In news from the meeting, City Administrator David Haugland gave an update about what’s happening at the Hab Center property.

Haugland also asked the council to approve a resolution to transfer ownership of an unimproved lot within the city limits.

The council approved the resolution.

The council also accepted the first reading of the appointment of Richard Machholz to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Machholz’s appointment will have to be approved a second time before he becomes a member of the commission.
