Multiple felony charges have been filed against a 51-year-old Sedalia man after a traffic stop was conducted on September 7.

According to a Sedalia Police report, during a search of the vehicle, the officer says he found marijuana; several items which were not marijuana but contained THC; some methamphetamine; blotter paper, commonly used to ingest Acid/LSD; digital scales; numerous Ziploc-styled baggies; and other drug-related items. Also located was a firearm that was reported as stolen out of Morgan County.

Wraymond Jess Merriott Jr., who is a convicted felon, is charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class D Felonies for Receiving Stolen Property and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; and an Unclassified Felony for Unlawful Use of Weapon- Possession of a Weapon and a Felony Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.

Merriest’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
