A 35-year-old Marshall man is facing additional charges after he allegedly removed a court ordered GPS monitoring device.

Michael Terrell Baker is alleged to have caused property damage by driving his vehicle onto Cecil Naylor Field on the Marshall High School campus and tearing it up on July 27. The field suffered thousands of dollars of damage, and Baker is facing a Class E Felony for Property Damage in the First Degree along with several other charges. He posted 10 percent or $1,500 of a $15,000 bond on September 3. As a provision of his release, Baker was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device.

On September 6, a Saline County deputy responded to a residence in the 1200 block of South Sharp Avenue in Marshall in reference to Baker allegedly tampering with the GPS device. The device, which has been cut off of Baker, was located inside the residence and Baker was not at the home. He was later located and arrested.

The new charge is a Class D Felony for Tampering with Electronic Monitoring Equipment. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only.

A court proceeding both cases is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23 at Saline County Circuit Court.
