
A 39-year-old Marshall woman facing is felony charge for allegedly assaulting a woman with a baseball bat in 2019.
On January 3, 2019, authorities were called to a residence at Pinewood Circle in reference to a woman who claimed she was struck in the head with a baseball bat.
The perpetrator had left the scene, before officers arrived, in a vehicle that was stopped by a police officer a short time later. While conducting a search of the vehicle, the officer found a wooden baseball bat that met the description of the one used during the incident and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue.
Kathy Martinson is charged with Class D Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Martinson was released on a personal recognizance bond in March but her bond was revoked in July after she violated her bond conditions. A Plea/Trial Setting has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, September 28 at Saline County Circuit Court.
