
Health officials in Carroll County reported the first death of a county resident attributed to COVID-19 on Thursday, September 17.
According to health-department officials, the total positive case count remained at 111 as it was on Wednesday, September 16. With one death and 104 recovered, there are six active cases.
Fourteen new positive cases were reported in Saline County, raising its total to 665 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 580 positive patients recovered- including four on Thursday- and 10 deaths, there are 75 active cases.
Pettis County’s total of positive cases rose to 915- including 11 on Thursday. With 765 positive patients recovered and 11 deaths, there are 139 active cases, including five persons hospitalized.
Seven new positive cases were confirmed in Lafayette County on Thursday. Of the 370 total positive cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic, 254 have recovered. With four deaths, there are 112 active cases. Health department director Tom Emmerson says 20 percent of the county’s residents have been tested.
Five new positive cases were reported in Cooper County, upping its total to 378. With 308 positive patients recovered and three deaths, there are 67 active cases.
Chariton County health officials reported three new positive cases on Thursday, increasing the total to 71. With 58 positive cases released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 13 active cases.
