Growing by another 1,700-plus on Thursday, September 17, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state surpassed 108,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the total increased by 1,747 from 106,587 on Wednesday, September 16, to 108,334 on Thursday.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths jumped by 18 from 1,739 on Wednesday to 1,757 on Thursday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS says the next update is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 18.
