A Sedalia man accused of inappropriate contact with a minor, three years ago, has had his case continued.

On the August 14th, 2017, a teenager gave explicit details to a Child Safe investigator of a sexual assault that she had allegedly suffered at the hands of Jesus Alberto Vanegas-Esquivel.

Vanegas-Esquivel reportedly admitted to the allegations when he was located and arrested in Morgan County on February 20, 2020.

Vanegas-Esquivel, who is now 27-years-old, has been charged with a Class D Felony for Statutory Rape in the Second Degree and a Class E Felony for Child Molestation in the Fourth Degree- Child Less Than 17 Years of Age and Offender Greater Than Four Years Older. The court has ordered no bond.

Vanegas-Esquivel’s case has been continued and a new Hearing date in this case is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 21 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
