Columbia, Mo. (Sept. 19, 2020)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s cross country teams opened their 2020 seasons competing at the Larry Young Invitational in Columbia, Mo.

According to a news release, leading the men’s team was Junior Jahlil Howard (Montgomery, Texas), who finished eighth overall in a time of 27:21 in the 8k race.  Junior Alex Quijada (Anaheim, Calif.) followed in a time of 29:13 to place at No. 29, while Sophomore Khobi Kellerman finished at No. 33 in a time of 29:44 (Auxvasse, Mo.).  Freshman Ranse Satniago (Kaufman, Texas) came in at a time of 33:18 to place at No. 61, and Freshman Demetrius Terrell (The Colony, Texas) rounded out the team with a time of 51:23 to finish at No. 79.

As a team, the Vikings placed ninth in the standings with a team score of 194.  Columbia (Mo.) finished on top of the team standings, with a score of 47.

One member of the women’s cross country team ran in the 5k race.  Sadie Lane placed No. 67 overall with a time of 25:58.

Up next, the Viking cross country teams will compete at the Graceland (Iowa) Invitational, Sept. 26, in Lamoni, Iowa.
